The Green River Alternatives

"Truth be know, the green river has unfortunately become a floating circus, and is loved to death on a daily basis."

Rafts, rafts and more rafts full of loud and screaming parties So, you've fished this famous piece of trout water in Utah. Who hasn't? And unfortunately these days a better question might be, who isn't there on the same day you are? Rafts, rafts and more rafts full of loud and screaming parties having water fights will definitely be there. Meanwhile the banks are lined with guys throwing lures and other weirdness into these over-pressured waters.

We guarantee to quench your thirst for a doubled over fly rod with screaming reel attached over and over again Isn't it funny how none of this mayhem is ever portrayed in the glossy fly-fishing magazines? Truth be known, the Green River has unfortunately become a floating circus and is loved to death on a daily basis. It is crowded and more crowded at best. And to add insult to injury, the over-fished, hatchery bred trout that inhabit this river fight about as well as a big Rapala on a fly rod when hooked. An almost imperceptible wiggle you might call it.

Not to be discouraged!

We have amazingly beautiful rivers that are full of 100% wild, and incredibly feisty trout in Brown, Rainbow, and Cutthroat flavors. And we guarantee to quench your thirst for a doubled over fly rod with screaming reel attached over and over again. Just like you are reading about. Most of our waters are under a 2-hour drive from the Salt Lake International Airport. And the drive to the Provo River itself is under an hour drive from the airport to any of its 3 different sections. If you were to fish with us for an entire week, (as many parties do) we could show you a different, trout-filled river on every day of your adventure. Many waters, and many, many trout await you. It is that simple. But don't just take our word for it, please enjoy a recent testimonial and more.

Dear PROS,

Just a short note to let you know how much Joe and I enjoyed fishing with you on the Provo and 'Secret Rivers' last week. When Joe did his tally we found that the two of us had hooked well over 100 beautiful trout in the 3 days we fished the Provo and your other 'secret' waters!

As you know, when we left you we spent a day on the Green River which I had looked forward to because of the Cicada hatch that was on. We had a very disappointing day as the water flow was up and the river was full of other fishermen. Joe caught one Cutthroat and I ended the day with three fish. The scenery was beautiful, but I couldn't keep my mind off the previous days wishing we had opted for another day on the incredible Provo River.

What we encountered in fishing with you on the Provo and other rivers was just as you had described. The fish were plentiful and healthy. I would venture to say that the average fish we hooked would have been 17"or 18"and ready to put up a fight. Anyone who wants to catch healthy, powerful and obstinate Brown and Rainbows should not overlook the Provo River and your many other guided waters!

If you ever need an endorsement or recommendation please consider me, as I will be happy to accommodate you.

Tight lines and great hatches,
Bill Smitherman

Please take the time to enjoy our many other pages of literature, pictures, slide shows, and video clips as additional proof of our many wonderful offerings. We sincerely look forward to helping you set up the fly-fishing trip of a lifetime.
